Glenwood Springs Colorado Vacation Activities!
Glenwood
Springs is located on Colorado's 1-70 and sits on the western slope of Colorado
as a hub to Aspen (40 miles south), Vail (45 miles east). From here, interstate
travelers can make side trips to explore many of northwestern Colorado's state
parks and wilderness areas, or stay in this pleasant community and enjoy
such attractions as the world's largest hot springs pool, or the mysterious
beauty of Glenwood Caverns. Glenwood's hot springs were first enjoyed by the
Ute Indians and then by wealthy miners and European aristocrats. Today, people
come for the history and hot springs as much as the rugged and beautiful surroundings.
Just east of the town is Glenwood Canyon, where the road becomes a vertical
stack, hugging the side of the treacherous canyon walls as it winds its way
upward. An intriguing engineering marvel.
