The Stephen C. West Ice Arena is home to (2) NHL-sized
ice rinks. The
indoor arena is open year-round & includes a lobby, full service
proshop, skate rental, locker rooms, meeting rooms, family changing
room, referee room, bleacher seating for 475 & a concession
stand. The outdoor rink is open from mid-September through
mid-April & has an indoor warming facility, complete with
locker rooms.
The Ice Arena hosts many groups and activities, including daily
public skating sessions, public hockey sessions, youth & adult
hockey leagues and learn to skate classes. The Summit Youth
Hockey Association, Summit High School Hockey team, various
adult hockey teams, and competitive figure skaters all practice
at the ice arena.
Directions to the Ice Arena (from Denver):
Take I-70 West to exit #203 (Frisco) Highway 9. Take Highway
9 South for 9 miles, through downtown Breckenridge. Turn
left on Boreas Pass Road. The Ice Arena is on your immediate
right.
The Stephen C. West Ice Arena offers Public Skating
for all ages and abilities. Skate Rental is available in Figure
Skates (Toddler size 6 - Adult 13) and Hockey Skates (Youth size
11 - Adult 12) as well as helmets and Hockey Sticks! For younger,
first timers, we also provide "EZ Skate Aids". Public sessions
are held daily. Please call for monthly public skating schedules. Sessions
are held on either the indoor or outdoor rink. The outdoor
rink is open October through April. Schedule is subject to
change. In the case of inclement weather on the outdoor arena,
please call (970) 547-9974, ext. 3 for cancellations due to weather.
