WHAT DOES MASSAGE DO FOR YOU?
After massage, many people find movement easier, more
comfortable and expansive. Massage is really about facilitating
movement in the body. Tension is nothing more than a holding pattern
– enforced motionlessness of specific areas. An area undergoing
stress usually goes through three stages of reaction: 1. pain, which
may be caused by incorrect use of the body; 2. if the stress continues
unrelieved, numbness will take the place of pain as the body tries
to defend itself against the pain by living with the tension as
if it were normal and no other options existed; and 3. if the stress
continues long enough, the continued muscle tension will result
in extreme pain.
MASSAGE THERAPY IS DRUG FREE TREATMENT FOR PAIN!
WHEN MOVEMENT IS EASIER – YOU ENJOY LIVING MORE!
Sensitivity and the ability to feel is something that can be developed.
Therapist training and experience have no substitute. There is much
in massage procedure that is really a matter of individual preference.
The effectiveness of the treatment and the persons comfort are the
two most important factors. The art of massage lies in having a
wide range of touch techniques, and even more in knowing what kind
of touch is appropriate to this particular part of this individual
person’s body at this specific time. An accomplished bodyworker
will know where on the body to work, how long to work there before
moving on to another spot, what level of pressure to apply and which
technique will be most helpful.
